Ears
If you look at this snowshoe hare's ears, it's actually small for a hare. The reason why their ears are so small is because it keeps the cold temperature out and makes it smaller of an object when it's being hunted.
Feet
These large feet help it get through deep snow. This is an advantage when it comes to getting chased by animals in the snow. Their feet also help them launch themselves off. If you watch how fast a snowshoe hare can run, it's amazing.
As you saw...
The snowshoe hare was able to dig under the deep snow. It's small legs balance out the large feet for excellent co-ordination. As you might of seen the lynx repetitively fell over because of sharp powerful turns of the snowshoe. The snowshoe hare was also able to stretch it's body for a farther reach.
